I'm going to round this up to 5 stars - probably would have gone with 4.5. Saturday was our second visit - we camenout on the 16th as well but couldn't do the escape room because it was broken so we just had cocktails. Really loved the intimate quiet vibe and knowledgeable bartenders - so we planned to come back and do the escape room. So - the drinks are excellent. Really like the number that include cucumber because that makes everything super refreshing when it's the surface of the sun outside. We also noticed that had already updated their menu from a few weeks ago which implies they will keep refreshing to keep things interesting. We had the artichoke dip the first time (very good) and they gave us cheesecake for our anniversary (super good!). This time we had the cheese plate which was underwhelming for what it was (maybe find some more interesting cheeses?). Onto the escape room. It was fun and challenging - but the best part is it can be done with a small party (I would honestly say 2-3 people is the ideal size) - which is unique to escape rooms in the area that will combine parties of 2 with random strangers. We had an amazing experience at Cipher Lounge, and Regan was a huge part of what made the night so memorable. He was fast, courteous, charismatic, and incredibly knowledgeable behind the bar. Our whole table had a great time with him. What really stood out was his ability as a mixologist. He asked each of us what kinds of flavors we liked and, after hearing our preferences once, was able to make cocktails specifically suited to each person’s palate. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a bartender do that for me before, and he absolutely nailed it. That kind of personal experience is what turns someone into a regular. Cipher has become one of my new favorite places, and Regan is a big reason I would come back. The lounge itself is absolutely beautiful. It has such a warm, cozy, and inviting atmosphere while still feeling upscale and unique. There’s so much attention to detail throughout the space, and it feels like the kind of place where you can settle in, relax, enjoy great drinks, and actually spend an entire evening with the people you’re with. Stopped by just to check it out and we were so pleasantly surprised! The space is beautiful! The drinks were tasty and the food was better than we expected. The martini deviled eggs were absolutely delicious and the banh mi panini had great flavor and good crunchy bread. Regan was our bartender/server and he was super friendly and informative. We didn’t try the escape room concept but are looking forward to going back for the whole experience.

Great new place in McKinney. Food and drinks were awesome. I didnt get a chance to do the escape room but look forward to trying. Atmosphere it tope of the line. This place is a great add to McKinney.
